Food: Portions redeem tasteless dishes

Kung Pao Bistro's top dishes struggle under the burden of a lack of culinary creativity and inconsistent freshness. The 'best ever had' Mongolian Beef, satisfying Vegan Orange Chicken, and loaded Chicken Wonton soup don't quite make up for the accusations of being bland, soggy, and stale at times. Nonetheless, the restaurant claws back some reputation through its generous portion sizes and the value they bring.

  • Great Value

Happy hour menu offers great value, exceptional savings for quality food.

  • Okay Variety

Menu selection is broad, but some dishes are hit or miss for customers.

  • Low Quality

Inconsistent: sometimes fresh, other times frozen, bad quality, or stale.

Vibe: Outdated, eerie ambiance

Expect no romance or ideal dating scenario in this dimly lit realm of disappointment. The casual, worn out decor adds little to the ambiance which is as dull as an empty party ballroom on a Friday night. The extensive variety of craft beers does little to brighten the vibe in an otherwise deserted and unpopular atmosphere.

  • Great Drinks

Huge selection of craft beers impresses alongside delicious cocktails.

  • Bad For Dates

Super dark, not romantic, eerie feeling; bad for date nights.

Perks: Frustrating parking spoils outings

Be prepared for the parking nightmare in the overcrowded lots that surround Kung Pao Bistro and the frustration of not being able to place a dine-in order ahead of your visit. Even their outdoor patio brings its own annoyance in the form of slow service and further parking issues. And while the restaurant accommodates large groups and dietary restrictions, a single unruly child's escapade undoes the effort spent trying to create a welcoming atmosphere for all.

  • Great For Diets

Extensive vegan/vegetarian menu, accommodating dietary needs, flavorful options.

  • Bad Service

Service speed and inattentiveness repeatedly criticized, tarnishing meals.
