Food: Lacks culinary enticement

Fromin's Delicatessen's dishes are more blunt than sharp, more muted than vibrant. The Matza Ball Soup, while alleged to be 'the best', seems drowned in an ocean of mediocrity. The Grilled Pastrami Sandwich and Cheese Blintzes might lure in the adventurous, but the anticipated payoff was found wanting. With a menu offering nearly as much originality as an upscale Denny’s, and food whose taste can range from stale to bland, there was much to wrinkle one’s nose at.

  • Large Portions

Most reviews praised large, generous, and more than sufficient portions.

  • Okay Taste

Food is good, portions very good, but service and experience underwhelming.

  • Bad Value

Horrible food, way overpriced; bad taste even with decent portions.

Vibe: Drab ambience, fleeting buzz

A trip to Fromin's Delicatessen is a bit like stepping into a time warp, if the time in question had particularly dim lighting and outdated décor. A gloomy feel is echoed not only in the styling but also in the lack of atmosphere. At times the restaurant verges on desolate; it is noticeably absent of buzz.

  • Bad Ambiance

Outdated décor and lighting, uncomfortable, spacious seating, and gloomy feel.

Perks: Ample parking, noise overload

If your primary dining ambition is to easily park your vehicle, then Fromin's Delicatessen could be deemed a success. However, other perquisites seem less rosy. Vegetarian options were found wanting, and with the arrival of your food also comes a cacophony of noise from both kitchen and dining floor.

  • Great For Kids

Kids are welcome, with customized menus and activities to color.

  • Okay Service

Service quality varies; some experiences great, others suffer from rudeness, slowness.

  • Bad For Diets

Limited vegetarian options, not as diverse as other delis.
