Food: Creative but perplexing fare

Le Comptoir's fresh, invention-driven menu leaves a mixed impression. The positively received Veggie & Fruit Plate and Cheese Plate emphasize creative use of ingredients and a tasteful variety. However, the ill-fitting sweet sauces on proteins and meager portions, like in the Black Truffle Pasta, counteract some of the culinary charm.

  • Very Creative

Unique, inventive dishes with masterful use of fresh, garden ingredients.

  • Okay Taste

Some dishes stand out, others simple and underwhelming, mixed experiences.

  • Bad Value

Overpriced for mostly flavorless fare and underwhelming culinary experience.

Vibe: Romantically mismatched vibe

The ambiance of this dining haven is undeniably warm, intimate and enhances any date night experience. The added layer of music augments the overall dining ambiance in all right ways. Yet, the lackluster sommelier selections and missing trendy buzz contradict the otherwise positive ambiance.

  • Great For Dates

Most memorable date night dinner with intimate romantic atmosphere and privacy.

  • Okay Drinks

Wine pairings satisfactory but not special, some well suited, some mismatched.

  • Negative Buzz

No ambiance, yet pretentious - lacks the restaurant's trendy appeal.

Perks: Disturbing parking and noise

Parking woes in an already congested Ktown, coupled with an unwanted kitchen fan hum, certainly affects the overall dining experience at Le Comptoir. Despite the neutral stance on reservations and positive remarks on diet options, the delay in service fails to make any gastronomic compensation.

  • Great For Diets

Vegetarian tasting menu commended as innovative and satisfying in fine dining.

  • Okay To Reserve

Reservation needed, offers intimate experience, but cancellation policies strict.

  • Hard To Hear

Loud hum from kitchen fans disrupted the Chef's presentation.
