Food: Creativity is middling
Yes, you can have your salmon sushi and eat it too. Their Salmon Sushi and the Sunkist roll particularly seem to be crowd pleasers. But here's the rub - it's not mind-blowingly creative. Some reviews mentioned portions have shrunken over time, but hey, at least the price is right in line with that you'd expect from a Japanese joint.
Great Variety
Extensive and diverse menu options; something for everyone's taste.
Okay Portions
Portions overall good, but some noted a decrease in size over time.
Top 3 dishes at Tokoro Sushi
- 1
Salmon Sushi 🏆
Generous fish portions, bigger than the rice, always fresh and delicious.
- 2
Sunkist Roll
The sunkist roll's flavor is highly praised; it's a favorite for many.
- 3
Popcorn Lobster
Crisp and delicious, the popcorn lobster delighted customers overall.
Vibe: Forgettable ambiance
Could you have a date night at Tokoro? Sure. If you're into dim lights and don't mind the lack of trendy décor. They've got a couple of drink specials so there's a positive to chew on. Just do yourself a favor and keep your expectations modest.
Great For Dates
Low light, romantic, perfect for intimate and charming date nights.
Okay Drinks
Nice drink specials and really cheap sake during happy hour.
Negative Buzz
Not trendy, decor needs TLC, lacks photogenic or Instagrammable quality.
Perks: Inconsistent service
There's good and bad here. Who cares that parking is a pain and it's pretty much always too noisy to hear yourself think, when they've got a great kids’s menu and vegetarian options? The service swings like a pendulum, fast at times, slow at others. Neither a 5-star treatment nor a disaster.
Great For Kids
Diverse, tasty kids’ menu with section and accommodating service.
Okay Service
Service varies; can be either delightfully quick or disappointingly slow.
Hard To Reserve
No reservations allowed, causing a 20-minute wait for seating.
