Food: High on creativity, low on value

Ichijiku's top dishes alright: the Sushi Roll, the Sushi Box for Two, and the Omakase Box. The freshness of the sushi is raved about and rightly so. But the taste? Some customers walked away disappointed, labelling the hand rolls 'terrible'. The menu is described as too tight with little variety, and the steep prices don't help either.

  • Great Quality

Many reviews highlight the exceptional freshness of the sushi served.

  • Okay Taste

Food was average, underwhelming but not bad, nothing particularly special.

  • Variety

Menu too tight; could improve communication to avoid frustration.

Vibe: Detrimental dinner atmosphere

People go to a sushi place expecting calm, perhaps an intimate setting for a date night. Ichijiku Sushi disappoints. A particular customer's anniversary dinner was spoiled by undesirable seating. The tiny drinks menu doesn't do enough to lift the mood either.

  • Great for Dates

Intimate window seating perfect for dates with fresh, buttery sushi.

  • Okay Drinks

Small but strong drink menu perceived differently by patrons.

  • Aesthetic

Bad anniversary dinner experience with not the best seating

Perks: Uninspiring dining disastrously serviced

The restaurant seems to struggle with the basics. Outdoor dining is cramped and comes with slow service. Group diners find the tables unclean and service lacking. Staff behaviour only added fuel to the fire, with multiple reports of rudeness and slow service.

  • Okay for Diets

WOM lacks bite-sized context to explain the neutral Diet sway.

  • Outdoor

Outdoor dining can be cramped, noisy with slower service at times.
