Food: Bland flavors test patience
The top-rated Vietnamese Rice Rolls, Banh Cuon Hai Nam and Chicken Rice, are unfortunately shadowed by overall blandness, poor freshness and disastrously small servings. Food items taste watered down, greasy, and give an impression of being leftovers from the previous night which leaves one wishing for nothing more than the meal to end.
Great Value
Food very good and refreshing, very cheap, creates super value
Bad Taste
Bland, old tasting, watered down, greasy, flavorless, mediocre.
Top 3 dishes at Hai Nam Saigon
- 1
Vietnamese Rice Rolls 🏆
Perfectly seasoned filling, taut thin rolls, and delicious accoutrements meld well.
- 2
Banh Cuon Hai Nam
Best banh cuon in town, with delightful, authentic flavors.
- 3
Chicken Rice
Chicken rice is flavorful, fluffy, and richly accented with chicken fat.
Vibe: Out-of-date, dull ambience
Once perhaps a trendy spot, Hai Nam Saigon now struggles with a vibe void of life as it appears dated and lost in the days gone by. The setting is further besmirched by a dirty interior and uncomfortable seating options, leading one to wish they had chosen to dine elsewhere.
Bad Buzz
Lost its vibe, feels dated; not trendy anymore
Perks: Slow service spoils mood
While plaza parking is available which could have been a redeeming factor, the service painfully lacks speed, significantly affecting the overall dining experience. The premise is cramped and therefore does not cater well to large groups, adding another nail to the proverbial coffin.
Okay To Park
Plaza parking available, shared lot with neighboring establishments.
Bad Service
Service was incredibly slow, disappointing for an eating establishment.
